Sound familiar?
01

You've noticed something. Everyone says "wait and see." Your gut says don't.

02

You asked for help — and got a wait measured in years.

03

Or you have a diagnosis — and still no plan for what to do at home.

"It's likely going to be a three-year wait before we even get seen by anybody. And that's not even diagnosis. That's just to see if she needs to go on to the pathway."

— a UK parent we spoke with, on the NHS assessment pathway
What it is

One screening. One call with a specialist.
One written plan.

A one-time online assessment for children aged 2–7, run by a children's occupational therapist (OT) — a specialist in how children manage everyday life: eating, dressing, play, school, big feelings.

01
Online screening
~20 minutes of questions about your child's daily life. From home.
02
60-minute video call
With an HCPC-registered children's OT — already prepared from your screening.
03
A written report
The Needs Map: strengths, priorities, this month's plan. Within 5 business days.
04
A page for the school
A one-page summary written for teachers. Hand it over — done.

This is not a diagnosis — on purpose. A diagnosis tells you what your child has. This tells you what they need — and what to do, starting now.

What the report actually looks like.

All main areas of development, plus a sensory profile. Strengths first, plain words, a plan at the end. Name changed; the format is real.

Strong motor skills for his age, warm connection with familiar adults — and your visual countdown before transitions is already working. This report builds on those foundations, not around them.

Where to start — this week's top 3
  1. Predictable movement breaks — 3 short, planned "heavy work" moments a day
  2. Transition warnings — a 5-minute heads-up before every activity change
  3. Two-choice questions at mealtimes instead of open ones
Then — every flagged area gets its own page. Like this:
How Leo experiences movement
Needs support (under-responsive)
The vestibular system is the body's movement sense — it tells us where we are in space, whether we're moving or still, and keeps us balanced. When it's under-responsive, a child needs more movement than usual to feel settled.

Based on your answers and our call, Leo actively seeks intense movement — spinning, jumping from furniture, rough-and-tumble play. Sitting still is genuinely hard for him, not a behaviour choice: his body is asking for the input it needs.

The goal for this area

Give Leo's body the movement it's asking for — on purpose, at predictable times — so it stops asking at the wrong ones.

From Leo's plan — examples
  • Animal-walk races down the hallway before mealtimes (2–3 minutes)
  • A "crash corner" of cushions where big jumps are allowed — and invited

What changes when you have it in writing.

"Am I doing the right things?" — answered in writing, not at 2am.

Before you book

Questions parents actually ask.

What's the difference between the screening and the full assessment?

The screening (~20 minutes, online) gives you a written snapshot: strengths, areas to watch, and where support is needed — across all main areas of development plus a sensory profile. The Clarity Assessment adds a 60-minute call with an occupational therapist, the full written Needs Map with a plan for this month, and the one-page school summary. If you're unsure, start with the screening — it's the same one the full assessment begins with, and if you upgrade later, the £19 is deducted from the assessment price.

Is this a diagnosis?

No — deliberately. A diagnosis tells you what your child has. This assessment tells you what your child needs, and what to do about it, starting now. If a diagnostic pathway is still right for your family, the report will help you make that case.

Who exactly runs the call?

A children's occupational therapist — a health professional who specialises in how children manage everyday life: eating, dressing, play, school, sleep, big feelings. All our therapists are registered with the HCPC, the UK regulator for health professionals — you can verify any registration on the HCPC public register, and you can see exactly who runs the calls in the team section above.

Will the school accept the report?

The report is prepared by an HCPC-registered occupational therapist, and schools regularly work with OT reports. The one-page school summary is built specifically to hand to a teacher or the school's special educational needs coordinator. We can't guarantee how any individual school will use it — but it's written to be used, not filed.

Why is this cheaper than a private assessment?

It's online — no clinic visit, no room to rent, no travel time billed to you. The therapists are the same calibre you'd see privately: HCPC-registered, with years of paediatric experience across home, school and clinical settings.

What if it turns out my child is developing typically?

Then you'll know — in writing, from a professional, instead of wondering at 2am. And "typical range" doesn't mean nothing to work on: you'll still get priorities and strategies for the things that prompted you to look.

Is 60 minutes really enough?

The screening happens before the call, so the therapist starts with a full picture instead of spending half the session on background questions. Sixty minutes of prepared conversation goes a long way — and if something significant is left open, the written report addresses it.

We're already on an NHS waiting list. Is this still worth it?

Many families booking this are. It isn't about skipping the queue — it's about not spending the wait doing nothing, and arriving at your eventual appointment with a written record instead of starting from zero.

Can we reschedule if something comes up?

Yes — free of charge up to 24 hours before your call.

What happens to our child's information afterwards?

The report is yours to keep and share with whoever you choose. Details on how we store and protect your information are in our privacy policy.
